@tessamchattie Catalonia's people will continue to fight for their independence if they lose their independence now. Although, they will keep on fighting it will not be see by the outside world as much. For example, Spain will keep the situation under control, and stop it from going to far this and keep it from the public. Also, while Catalonia's people will continue to fight they will not have enough support to win, but will keep pursuing independence.

@abigailkingerski Catalonia does not deserve the right to be independent, because of Spain's constitution. The constitution was made to prevent things like this from happening. To continue, why should Catalonia and not any other region of Spain be independent; why them? Also, to answer your other question Catalonia could not handle Spain in war. First, they do not have the support and resources. Next, Spain has to big of an army etc. for Catalonia to take on. The long term effects will result in Spain taking back control of Catalonia and people having to face with the misery of not having independence.

@kingerski Spain has the constitution for a reason. But, looking into Catalonia’s eyes, if the situation is bad and holding them back, it’s a better thing for them to be independent. It can go either way, Spain made it so things like this wouldn’t happen but it’s not fair how Catalonia is being treated.

@williams there are ways to go around war when becoming independent. In this situation it may turn out to be more toward war because they’re breaking Spain’s constitution. If it wasn’t in their constitution I don’t think that it would be a big deal. But since it is, it’s going to take a lot to secede from Spain and it’s going to build anger if they do it. Just because they voted on it does not mean that it’s going to be that easy to become independent. It’s going to take a lot of work and a lot of anger will build between the two.

@martin I do believe if this works other countries will want to break away too. They may be scared to do it but if someone does it and succeeds then others will step up to the plate to do what they have been wanting to do for awhile
