@fowler I would not want my tax money to go to safe injection sites. I would rather it go to something that will benefit the majority of people and the world. DonaldsonI believe that the safe injection sites will add to the number of users of heroin and make the epidemic even worse.

Responds to Madison Kinsey
You asked the questions, "do we really think that the people using the drugs will feel safe and secure in the sites? Or will they feel as if it is the way for people to find them and they will get punished or feel like they have a target on their back?". To tell you the truth I never truly thought of that. If the government wanted to they could easily target theses sites and arest everyone involved. This could cause a bug problem and like you said make people scared and not want to go to theses safe injection sites.

@rudish
You made a great statement that was,"The U.S. government has spent nearly 1 trillion dollars on the War on Drugs since 1970, and it has made almost no difference.". This is very shocking and eye opening to me. And to even more of my surprise it has been 48 years sense they started doing this and the number of overdoses keeps rising. I couldn't agree with you more in saying that these sites would be a waste of time and money.

Donaldson I agree with you and you put everything out there in a neat and organized way to make it easier to understand. If the "safe" injection sites were to start popping up in America then I think there would be a large increase in drug addicts. And this would assure first time users that they won't die so they would be more likely to start using. I completely agree with your original response and this is not the solution to America's drug problem.

@l. Pierce You stated in your original response that even though it's illegal to do drugs we should have safe injection sites because it could save lives. So if we have "safe" injection sites should we have a place that people can go and shoot each other and there's a doctor right outside. It has the potential to save people's lives, especially more than if they were to just get shot on the street. You said we should do whatever it takes to save lives so what should we do to limit the deaths from shootings? On response to your question I believe that the states and cities should not go through with these sites as it could increase the accessibility to drugs and increase the amount of drug addicts. It is still illegal to do drugs so why would we give people a place to do it?
