@chloe i agree with you that it is a risky decision and North Korea is probably up to something and seeing how they have acted in the past is alarming but i honestly hope that they aren’t planning anything violent. I just think they are using the South for resources and just want to get back on their good side but i may be wrong.

@matt(original post) If N. Korea did attack at the winter Olympics other countries probably won't fear them. Most likely they would think them as cowards because they killed innocent people for no good reason and faked everything else. And they wouldn't be afraid just hate them more than ever and want revenge. If in fact N. Korea is being nice and not trying to trick us we might be seeing a total change in the lifestyles on Koreans in total. The DMZ might be dropped and may possibly bring peace and unification of Korea, but there is a better chance at winning the powerball!

@matt If North Korea were to make a move at a world event it would pit every country on the edge. Making a move at the Winter Olympics would make a big statement being that every country has athletes there.

@richard I also believe that North Korea is using their “peace agreement” to most definitely take attention off of them while they get stronger off of South Korea. I would not put it past Kim Jon Un because of his history with loving conflict and only caring about himself. It is also fair to say that he is an extremely selfish person being that his people are starving and by the looks of it he clearly isn’t.

@chloe To answer your question I think that the athletes chosen by North Korea already have prior knowledge to the rest of the world before participating in the Olympics. I wonder what will happen when they become accustom to how the rest of the world lives they will probably not want to go back.

jonah I do not believe that North Korea is planning on attacking the olympics. If Un decides to attack the olympics, every country in the world will be coming after them, except maybe Russia because they are not partaking in the olympics this year. North Korea is most likely up to something, but n attack on just about every country in the world is not move North Korea should be willing to make. brooke, I totally agree with you about how we should not allow North Korea to join the olympics because its just improving their economic state. We should not allow them to regroup and get the resources they are so desperate for.

jonah I completely agree with your statement saying the we should not let our guard down about North Korea. I do also believe that it will be an interesting scenario to watch.

@chloe I think that the North Korean athletes that do go to the Olympics are higher class people that the motherland will not worry about what they find out because the are more educated than the other North Koreans.
